Physics Instructor
Physics Instructor, Crowder College, effective Spring 2021, full-time nine-month position. The Physics Instructor is responsible for teaching General Physics I & II, Statics, and other lab and non-lab courses in the physical sciences, such as Physical Science and Astronomy, as scheduled and agreed to with the division chair; assisting with maintenance of equipment and materials for the physical sciences lab; assisting with curriculum development and review; assisting students with advising and enrollment as needed; and fulfilling committee duties as assigned. Assignments may include all delivery methods (traditional, online, flex, etc.). Class load will be fifteen credit hours per semester. Teaching assignments may involve day/evening or off-site classes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Master’s degree in Physics or Master’s degree in a closely related field with at least 18 credit hours in Physics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement responsibilities effectively
- Ability to work both individually and within a team environment
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, other professionals, staff, and the public
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience teaching college students
- Experience in development of materials and media for online learning
- Knowledge of a learning management system (such as Blackboard or Canvas)
