The City of Lowell, Arkansas is accepting applications for the position of Planning Coordinator. The Planning Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Community Development Director. The general purpose for Planning Coordinator is to perform a variety of administrative and technical functions in Planning for the City of Lowell. Previous experience preferred but not required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist Community Development Director as needed.
  • Receive all plans, applications and payments upon submittal.
  • Meet with developers, public and interested parties of developments.
  • Research planning and zoning questions.
  • Coordinate all Planning Commission & Board of Adjustment packets, notification and minutes as needed.
  • Implement land development ordinances.
  • Comprehensive Plan Implementation, compliance.
  • Special Project coordination as directed by Supervisor and/or Mayor
  • Oversee plan review process for Planning.
  • Administrative functions of Planning Department.
  • Attend workshops and conferences for Planning as needed.
  • Assist in management of Community Development budget with Community Development Director.
  • Maintain planning related ordinances.
  • Coordinate with Regional Planning Commission to maintain interactive maps on City website.
  • Respond to local citizens about Community Development Planning and Zoning Regulations and ordinances.
  • Arrange travel and lodging for educational/work related trips for Community Development Department.
  • Organize and maintain Planning files.
  • Prepare notifications for public hearings and advertise public hearings as required by law.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
