The starting rate of pay for this position will be within 15% of the grade range minimum. The rate determined will depend on experience and qualifications.
The grade range for this position is:

- Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
- Operate power equipment including but not limited to a leaf blower, weed trimmer, portable generator, drills, grinders, mowers, sprayer, power washer and other equipment as may be assigned.
- Clean and/or remove graffiti, stickers, fliers and other foreign objects from City property.
- Clean areas around trash, glass, and cardboard containers/dumpsters, as well as trash compactors.
- Clean and blow off assigned sidewalks.
- Clean flower beds of trash and cigarette butts on assigned streets or parking areas.
- Sweep and clean assigned streets.
- Sweep and clean all City parking lots and parking decks in assigned areas.
- Empty trash cans on and around City parking lots and parking decks in assigned areas.
- Change and maintain light bulbs in assigned parking decks, parking lots or other facilities.
- Wash, clean, fuel and maintain ATV, mobile vacuum, street sweeper and vehicles.
- As assigned, supervise the activities of the parking attendants
- Keep maintenance building clean and stocked with supplies.
- Perform weed maintenance around City parking lots in assigned areas.
- Clean public trash can lids on assigned streets and parking lots.
- Empty all public cigarette ash trays in assigned areas.
- Perform snow removal in City parking lots, parking decks, and other assigned areas.
- Replace parking bumpers as needed.
- As assigned, assist with City special events by performing maintenance duties or other related tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
- Ability to read and comprehend safety manuals, operation and equipment maintenance manuals.
- Must have the ability to regularly work weekends. Must be flexible to work outside regularly scheduled shifts as assigned to assist in staffing special events or responding to inclement weather events.
- Must achieve proficiency in the use of ATV, street sweeper, mobile vacuum vehicle following initial on-the-job training.
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
